"For virtuosity, it's David Maxwell's Maximum Blues Piano. No vocals (actually just one) - just 10 fingers singing their way through jump, boogie, New Orleans, funky, Chicago and plain old badass blues" - Pulse, 1997

Blue Merlot
Call it Gumbo Funk. With a sound based in the blues, Blue Merlot goes far beyond the "Blue" that’s in their name. R & B grooves mix with harmonic vocals, distinctive New Orleans style keyboard virtuosity, intelligent songwriting, and reinterpretations of cover songs. Their "gumbo funk" sound is a blend of Blues, South Louisiana R & B, Rock, Jazz, Gospel, and Swamp Pop

Bob Margolin: In North Carolina
Features Bob playing his Blues at home, both solo and on all the instruments, rather than in a studio or onstage. From 1973-1980, Bob played guitar in the band of Chicago Blues legend Muddy Waters, touring worldwide and recording, and learning to play Muddy's powerful music directly from him. In 1980, Bob started his own band, and he's still on the road and recording. He won the W.C. Handy award for guitar in 2005, and was nominated again in 2006.
