Jimmi Mayes is a Chicago legend who has supported and collaborated with many oustanding artists. He worked as the drummer for Joey Dee and the Starliters for a year and a half. During that time, the band featured none other than Jimi Hendrix on guitar. Jimmi Mayes later went on to work with Hendrix on some of his studio recordings, including the song My Friends from the album First Rays Of The Rising Sun
