Originally from the New Orleans, Louisiana area, DUKE has been active in the Los Angeles Rhythm and Blues scene for nearly two decades. His career started at Saint Mark Baptist Church in Clayton, Louisiana where he sang in the junior choir. DUKE'S Mother and Grandmother encouraged his singing and he was inspired by the legendary Sam Cooke.
